Buddy of Andy Warhol, Greta Garbo sues over gay-sex portrayal in Julianne Moore film.
A prominent East Side art dealer who was once buddies with Andy Warhol and Greta Garbo sued Cablevision on Monday, charging it and its subsidiaries defamed him in the movie “Savage Grace.”
In papers filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, Sam Green says the Julianne Moore film portrays him and Moore’s character, Barbara Baekeland, as having a sexual relationship with Baekeland’s son, Tony.
Green acknowledges his affair with Barbara Baekeland in the 1960s, but insists he has not had gay sex. Tony Baekeland killed his mother and then committed suicide after trying to kill his grandmother.
The suit accused Cablevision of defamation, claiming the movie has impaired his ability to raise funds for The Landmark Foundation, a nonprofit group that he founded.
There was no immediate comment from Cablevision.
